Easy Oven-Grilled Kofta

2009 March 29

Here’s an easy recipe for grilled kofta…without the grill! And you don’t need skewers either…YAY!

1/2 kilo (approx. 1 lb.) ground beef or turkey
1 packet of Knorr-Fine Foods Kofta Seasoning
1/2 c. water

Mix the ground meat with the seasonings and water in a mixing bowl. Let it sit for about 15 minutes.

Wrap about a spoonful of meat length-wise around a metal skewer (or any pencil-like object, just make sure it’s clean) just like you would do if you’re going to grill it.  Slide it off and onto a pre-oiled baking sheet or aluminum foil.

Repeat until all meat is used.

Broil in oven on high flame until almost burnt on top, then turn over and repeat on the other side.

Serve over rice with a salad on the side, or on whole wheat pita with lettuce, tomatoes and onions.  Serves 4-6 persons.

Warning: Do not leave the meat under the broiler and go tend to something else! Because the kofta is hollow it cooks very fast!

LOL! I meant u don’t need skewers for the cooking! But all you need is a clean, pencil like object…I use this long, metal blade sharpener thingy that came with my knife set…alhamdu lillaah it works great!
